Exploration Sketches
The challenge in this stage consisted of experimenting with various abstract illustration styles while maintaining the defining features of a red panda.
Digital Compositions
The final compositions from the exploration sketches were refined in Adobe Illustrator. Each conveyed different levels of details, abstraction, line weight, and color.
Final Pamphlets
For the final three pamphlets, the drawings were each paired with photos and colors to support similar yet different themes with the same overarching message of supporting conservation.
First, the fully colored drawing demonstrates the color that wildlife brings to nature which contrasts the photo it’s paired with of deforestation.
The drawing with varying stroke lengths with the red panda photo shows the natural beauty of the animal.
Lastly, the negative space drawing added with the clouded forest shows the mysterious yet dire current state of forests where red pandas reside.
